Are you fossilized?

January 28th, 2012 | Posted by admin in Missions - (0 Comments)

Some gems from three great lay persons on evangelization.

Mr Terry Barber has over 30 years of evangelization experience said: “If we don’t evangelize, we will fossilize. We must remember to share our faith or we will lose it.”

He is convinced that once you let God fill you with FIRE and DESIRE, you will be “evangelizing without even trying.”

“There are two sides to the Church’s entire mission: evangelization and the establishment of the Church to lead people to Christ .” (more…)

Day of recollection

January 11th, 2012 | Posted by admin in Course Update | Latest News - (0 Comments)

The current batch of NET 20 had three sessions conducted by the Cenacle sisters in Dec. 2011 on the following topics: 1) Prayer 2) Relationship with God 3) Day of Recollection The Day of Recollection with the Cenacle sisters was held at The Choice Retreat House at 47 Jurong West St. 42 on 11th Dec. 2011, Sunday. We are reminded again that  prayer is not just one-way communication with God as we  need to listen attentively to His Words from our hearts. At all times, we should try to set up a private space for God physically (Ideally during our prayer time, have a small cross, bible and a lit candle in your room.)  and spiritually. The day of recollection allows to reflect who is Christ in our life.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — The Vatican and other Christian representatives have
issued a series of recommendations for evangelization in multifaith
societies, rejecting aggressive or coercive methods but defending the right
to profess, propagate or change one’s religion.

Just sharing some thoughts…

It  was indeed a very memorable, wonderful and loving experience for me to run the N20 EE at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament last week end, 23rd and 24th July 2011.  It reminded me of the beautiful story “The Footprints” whereby our loving and gracious Lord was carrying me very closely in his arms throughout my ups and downs….

25 years of NET

June 9th, 2011 | Posted by admin in Latest News - (0 Comments)

The New Evangelization Team (NET) celebrated its 25th year with a special Mass celebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Nicholas Chia.

At his homily, His Grace reminded all that every baptized person is to be an evangelizer – this is our response as daughters and sons of God.

Evangelization is drawing people to the truth, communicating God’s Word and values.

The world is communicating wrong values. Christians have the mission to speak and live true values and in this way, become inspirations and an uplift to society.

Homeleave and Fundraising

This is my fourth year in Kenya and my blog updates are getting less frequent the longer I stay here! LOL! Looks like it’s going to be a biannual affair now that half the year is nearly over…

Well, it has certainly been an eventful past 6 months. In late January I returned to Singapore primarily to renew my passport (as we don’t even have a Singapore trade office here, let alone an embassy) but my visit also gave me the chance to be with my mother who had suffered a rather bad fall down the stairs at home, fracturing her left eye socket and humerus in the process.
